My personal style—in apparel—is heavily rooted in classic, elegant, timeless pieces. Then, to add a modern edginess that balances out the style that is my own I look to my obsessories—shoes, bags, jewelry etc. As a result, when I find pieces that can simultaneously speak to the past as well as the present I am instantly smitten—hence my allure to the above.

Oversized watches and stacks of chunky bracelets have restrained my wrists—quite fashionably—for several seasons now. So I was instantly intrigued and delighted when I came across Links of London's new collection of Sweetie watches which showcase their talent of creating watches as jewelry. Inspired by their beloved Sweetie bracelet, the Sweetie watch is of timeless quality making it an instant classic—a piece that’s, well, timeless.
One shoulder ensembles make their mark not only for the upcoming spring season, but the current holiday party season as well, by adding classic elegance to the evening gown or cocktail dress. These asymmetrical creations, which are sure to make international red carpet debuts, are a beautiful way to showcase a bit of skin with sophistication.
Whether you take queue from Carolina Herrera's long plum number or Cynthia Steffe's short sequined stunner, you are bound to make a grand entrance wherever your night takes you.

Fast forward to the fall and winter seasons for a trend that'll keep you stylish and warm. Gloves covered hands in everything from leathers to satins to knits and were embellished with studs, stones, bows , bangles and more.
Downtown edge comes by way of fingerless gloves as shown by Koi Suwannagate. Urban Outfitters has two options: Deena & Ozzy's perfortated version which comes in black and cobalt blue or a bow trimmed wrist in red or gray.
Add a little luxe to your look with a longer pair as shown at Nina Ricci and Just Cavalli. Try Searle's long, silk-lined rouched leather gloves for a more sophisticated edge.
We'll admit right away we're on the fence with this one. While we do love the inspiration menswear has provided - the alluring way trouser pants fall over the curve of the hips, a button down playing peek-a-boo with the neckline and cleavage or the way an oversized watch falls around a slender wrist-t his is one trend we've yet to indulge.
As shown by our trend adventurers this look is not easily achieved and therefore not at all for the faint of style. However, it can be a very chic look if you keep your apparel simple--smooth, clean lines (dodging any and all unnecessary bagginess) on classic pieces letting your bow tie be the bold stand out accessory. The key is to avoid being too formal by keeping it fun with colors or prints.
The season's denim options are all washed out – stone and acid that is. For the spring and fall seasons bleach treated jeans cleaned up the runways in skinny, ripped styles at Balmain and baggy, rumpled looks at Diesel Black Gold while Miss Sixty nearly bleached their denim white. Don’t’ call it a comeback, acid and stone wash jeans are here to stay in modernly major way.
Rock your own ultra-glam retro cool look-just channel Madonna and Michael Jackson in all their 80s glory- because it’s the only way you should be wearing your jeans at the moment. Pair them with everything from oversized sweaters to blazers to your favorite tanks and tees. Just make sure to add a pop of color and a bold accessory.
Don’t want to spend on the trend? Get a completely original pair by creating them yourself. Pull out an old pair of jeans, scissors, a few cups of bleach-depending on how bleached out you want them-grab a few smooth stones (if you want the stone wash look) and commence washing, bleaching and ripping—the more bleached and ripped the better, so wash on!
Go big or stay home. One of the season's biggest trends, opulently oversized earrings, skimmed the runways in leather wrapped twists at Louis Vuitton, tangled metal and chains at Ann Demeulemeester, and shoulder-dusting fringe at Marc Jacobs. Whether accessorizing for a casual weekend picnic, night of club-hopping or formal gala a pair of shoulder-sweeping earrings should top off your look. Take note to pull your hair back or up out of the way letting your oversized earrings claim the focal point of your look.
Aldo's Sark chandelier filigree earrings embellished with beads and almond-shaped rhinestones embody a royal elegance that will leave them in awe of your style status.
Express' Fringe Chain & Charm earrings have an antique silver filigree yet thoroughly modern chain hung coin charms that provide a fun and playful touch. They promise a look with showy flare and swingy shine.
bebe's Wavy Disc chandelier earrings give the illusion of metal in motion. The loosely linked metallic discs overlap creating shimmering dimension in a fashion forward style.
Forever 21's Tassel Dangle earrings mix the classic glamor of pearls, the vintage charm of lacquered colored flowers and the modern edge of tassel-end chains for a look that is stylishly chic.
Forever 21's Medea hook earrings' dangling chains provide a nonchalant teardrop structure for the distorted circle charms to hang in all their high polished rock glam essence.
(NOTE: When ordering online, earrings may appear larger than actual size, make sure they measure at least 3.5" or more in length from the hook/post/clip to get the shoulder-skimming effect.)
Almost velvety soft and definitely statement-making hued, blue suede shoes have a bit of retro cool and a lot of modern edge. Whether you opt for wooden soles: Loeffler Randall's graphic wood platform or Steve Madden's 'trufle', snake-skinned straps: Steven by Steve Madden's Fantacy, round or open toes, channeling Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley has never been so stylish.
Take Matthew Williamson's colorfully chic 'Dark Escape' box clutch, throw in New Balance's black sport gym bag, shake it up with a style remix and what have you got? Forever 21's 'Neon Feather' tote for casual day wear that's just as colorfully chic.
Go long and bold in colorfully printed maxi dresses. Grab your sun shades and thong sandals to stroll the island shops in Forever 21's 'Island Flower' maxi dress. Or cover up your bikini in style with Arden B's stretch 'Paisley Sublimination' maxi. Perfect for a casual summer evening out, Forever 21's 'Summer Night' maxi dress will look great with wedges.
